Improving the Quality of Nutrition in New York Public Schools

This presentation focuses on efforts to improve the quality of nutrition in New York Public Schools. It offers some suggestions of how to improve the school nutrition environment and implementation strategies that may decrease the potential detrimental health effects of poor nutrition in school-age children. This presentation is directed towards the members of the New York City Department of Education School Nutrition Programs, principals, school food-service staff, teachers, and parents of children attending New York public schools.

  1. Hi Monica, this was very informative and enjoyable to watch. Your use of graphics, goverment sources and superb research studies depicts a very serious obesity challange before us.
    Your presentation provides not only the contibuting elements of obesity but several innovations (vending machine and school lunch changes) that could make the difference in many lives.
    I very much enjoyed both the visual and textual content of this presentation. This would be a wonderful tool to bring to the shools for “healthy eating awarness day.”
