Improving School Nutrition

Please click here for a powerpoint presentation revealing the importance of school nutrition on the health of adolescents in the United States.  There are many environmental factors that contribute to the health outcome of adolescents.  One example would be the availability of fast foods and another example would be the types of food offered on school premises.  Health outcome associated with poor nutritional health on educational institution includes obesity, heart disease and type II diabetes.  In order to decrease the prevalence of these particular adolescent health outcomes, a multifaceted public health approach is needed.
