Alaska Native Return to Traditional Diet and Environmental Stewardship

Traditional Alaska Native diet and lifestyle depend on local food sources rich in nutrients.  A challenge is presented to health researchers and proponents of environmental stewardship to seek guidance from indigenous experts whose close relationships with the land have produced healthy ways of life for millennia.  This paper is directed to Alaska Native communities, in particular Elders and youth, and to health professionals concerned with Arctic health, research, and environmental science.

  1. Wow, never knew this needed to be addressed, well I hope it works but wouldn’t you think you would want as much skin on your bones as possible to help with the winter? Sorry if I sound insensitive but just curious.
    Thanks,
